MENRED successfully hosted the 2nd Wuheng Alumni Conference & Smart Housing Summit

Redefining Wuheng standards and solutions for a new era of Better Housing and healthy living.

On January 26, the 2nd Wuheng Alumni Conference & Smart Housing Summit, themed “Awakening, Reshaping, A New Voyage”, was successfully held. The event brought together outstanding alumni of the EEH Advanced Research Institute, industry experts, scholars, and frontline practitioners to engage in in-depth discussions centered on China’s national strategy for Better Housing.

Through multi-dimensional dialogue spanning technological frontiers, standard development, and market practice, the summit jointly outlined a new development blueprint for the Wuheng System—constant temperature, humidity, oxygen, cleanliness, and quietness—in the era of smart and healthy housing.

Awakening: Understanding the Era and Building Industry Consensus

Against the backdrop of China’s promotion of Better Housing and green, low-carbon living, the residential industry is undergoing a profound transformation — from an equipment-driven era to a system-oriented era. As the core carrier of healthy and comfortable living, the Wuheng System has become a shared consensus for industry upgrading.

Renowned experts were invited to deepen this collective awakening from multiple perspectives.

Zhang Jianzhong, Chairman of the Wuheng Better Housing Alliance, Director of the Jiangsu Refrigeration Society, and MEP Chief Engineer of Nanjing Yangtze River Urban Architectural Design Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech titled “Discussion and Reflection on Cooling and Heating Models for Better Housing in Hot-Summer and Cold-Winter Regions”, offering in-depth analysis of climate-adaptive healthy thermal solutions.

Professor Guo Haixin, Professor at the Sino-German College of Tongji University and a pioneer in capillary radiant technology, presented “From Surface Thermal Radiation to the Evolution of the Wuheng System”, systematically reviewing the historical and technological development of the Wuheng system.

In his opening address, Professor Zhang Ziping, President of the EEH Wuheng Advanced Research Institute, emphasized the “awakening”, returning to a people-centered philosophy of healthy living, further reinforcing the core value of the Wuheng system.

Reshaping: Establishing Standards and Innovating Solutions

Building on this awakening, the theme of “Reshaping” focused on industry standardization and technological integration. A key highlight of the summit was the official release of the “Wuheng Standard Definer 2.0 System” by Chen Linan, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of MENRED Group, marking a new phase of standardized and regulated development for the Wuheng industry.

Chen Linan stated:“After awakening, the critical step is reshaping. The year 2026 will be the year of solution capability building for the Wuheng industry.”

The new system provides a complete benchmark covering design, construction, and performance evaluation.

Jia Yonghong, Chief Engineer of the Urban Zero-Carbon Energy Engineering Research Institute at China Northwest Architectural Design Institute, provided an authoritative interpretation of the “Technical Code for Residential Wuheng HVAC Systems”, offering strong guidance from a national standards perspective.

Technological reshaping also stood out prominently.

Dr. Liu Xuesong, Founder of QingTeng and Carnegie Mellon PhD, shared insights on “AI-Driven Building Energy Efficiency and Data Assetization”, highlighting the vast potential of intelligent technologies in enhancing system efficiency and value.

Lei Yong, PhD in HVAC from Tongji University and Founder of Tongyue Energy-Saving Technology, presented a “Green Building Full-Effect Wuheng Solution”, demonstrating the frontier of system integration.

Marc Giraudi, MENRED’s Swiss Partner and Founder of Unicum AG, delivered “Saving the Planet: The Houses of the Future”, offering inspiring international perspectives for domestic practice.

A New Voyage: Ecosystem Synergy Toward a Blue Ocean of Healthy Living

With shared awakening and system reshaping, the summit officially embarked on a new voyage driven by ecosystem collaboration. A high-level roundtable forum titled “Dialogue 2026: Defining Wuheng Solutions for Better Housing” brought the event to its climax.

Moderated by Chen Linan, the forum featured industry leaders including Wang Kun (Founder of Aoshu, Beijing), Li Tizhou (Founder of Firefly, Wenzhou), Fan Gang (CTO of Halmburger Shanghai), Liu Hui (Consultant, Yangzhou Carbon-Neutral Luxury Housing MEP Experience Center), Chen Mengyuan (Senior Engineer, China Academy of Building Research), and Zhang Yi (Founder of Kaibeilai Energy Saving, Beijing).

The panel engaged in in-depth discussions on future market trends, technical implementation challenges, and user experience upgrades, providing diversified and practical pathways for the industry’s next stage of development.

Meanwhile, outstanding EEH alumni and MENRED partners from Henan, Fujian, Shandong, Hubei, Jiangsu, and Shanghai shared real-world success stories of market transformation based on MENRED’s system platform—demonstrating that every participant in this new voyage has the potential to become a regional leader.
