On October 17, 2026, the Youth Committee of the Shanghai Society of Refrigeration held a working meeting at MENRED Group Co., Ltd. in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, China. Representatives from the society and MENRED Group gathered for technical exchanges, company visits and discussions on potential industry–academia–research collaboration in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and indoor environmental control.
The meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen communication between industry professionals and enterprise representatives, explore emerging HVAC technologies, and identify potential opportunities for technical cooperation and joint product development.

Exploring New Opportunities in HVAC Technology
As demand for energy-efficient buildings and healthier indoor environments continues to grow, integrated indoor climate control is becoming increasingly important in residential and commercial applications.
During the meeting, participants exchanged perspectives on the development of the refrigeration and HVAC industry, enterprise innovation, and opportunities to connect technical research with practical applications.
Potential areas for future collaboration include heating and cooling, humidification and dehumidification, fresh air ventilation, energy recovery, air purification and intelligent indoor environmental control.
These technologies address different but interconnected aspects of indoor comfort. By exploring how they can work together, manufacturers and research organizations can identify opportunities to improve system performance, energy efficiency and adaptability to different building requirements.

MENRED Group Introduces Its Integrated Indoor Climate Solutions
Chen Linan, founder of MENRED Group, welcomed the visiting representatives and introduced the company's development, business scope and technical capabilities.
Founded in 1995, MENRED Group focuses on integrated home comfort systems and green building technologies. Its product portfolio covers multiple areas, including radiant heating and cooling, fresh air ventilation, air purification and smart home technologies.
The company also advocates and develops integrated Five-Constant Systems, designed to coordinate five aspects of the indoor environment: constant temperature, humidity, oxygen, cleanliness and quietness.
Rather than treating air conditioning, heating, ventilation and purification as independent products, this integrated approach aims to coordinate different technologies through intelligent sensing and control to create a more comfortable indoor environment.
The approach also offers opportunities to explore energy-efficient building solutions by considering indoor environmental performance and energy consumption as part of an integrated system.

Exploring Collaboration Across Six Key Technology Areas
Building on the technical exchange, several areas offer potential for further cooperation and joint development.
1. Heating and Cooling
Explore system integration, thermal comfort and energy efficiency under different climatic conditions, supporting the development of solutions for diverse building applications.
2. Humidification and Dehumidification
Investigate humidity management technologies that respond to different environmental conditions, helping maintain appropriate indoor humidity and improve occupant comfort.
3. Fresh Air Ventilation and Energy Recovery
Explore ventilation system performance, heat and moisture recovery, and the integration of fresh air supply with broader indoor climate control strategies.
4. Air Purification and Filtration
Evaluate opportunities to integrate air filtration, purification and indoor air quality management into ventilation and environmental control systems.
5. Intelligent Control and System Integration
Explore intelligent sensing, coordinated equipment operation and control strategies that can improve the interaction between temperature, humidity, ventilation and air quality management.
6. Product Testing and Application Development
Identify opportunities for performance evaluation, technical validation and application-oriented product development to help translate research concepts into practical solutions.
These areas represent potential directions for further technical discussion. Specific cooperation projects would be developed according to the participating organizations' expertise, project requirements and mutually agreed objectives.

Connecting Research with Manufacturing and Real-World Applications
During the visit, representatives toured MENRED Group's factory and showroom, learning about manufacturing processes, laboratory facilities, new products and technologies, and the company's integrated indoor climate demonstration space.
The visit offered participants a closer look at how technical concepts are translated into products and applied in real indoor environments.
For HVAC technology development, the connection between research, engineering, manufacturing and application testing is essential. Product concepts must be evaluated against practical requirements, including operating performance, installation conditions, energy consumption, reliability and maintenance.
Combining research expertise with manufacturing experience can help identify technical challenges earlier and create opportunities for more application-oriented development.
At the meeting, Professor Huang Yonghua, director of the Youth Committee, introduced the society's development and professional activities. Professor Zhang Xu, chairman of the Shanghai Society of Refrigeration, delivered concluding remarks and recognized MENRED Group's emphasis on product quality, technological innovation and continuous improvement.
The exchange also provided young committee members with an opportunity to learn more about industrial applications and the practical challenges facing HVAC manufacturers.

Advancing Industry–Academia–Research Collaboration
Cooperation between professional societies, research teams and manufacturers can create valuable opportunities to connect technical knowledge with industry needs.
For MENRED Group and MENRED AIR, potential collaboration in heating, cooling, humidity control, fresh air ventilation and air purification offers a basis for exploring more integrated indoor environmental solutions.
Future discussions may focus on joint development, technical validation, system integration and the application of emerging technologies to residential and commercial projects.
By combining engineering expertise with practical manufacturing and project experience, participating organizations can explore new approaches to improving indoor comfort, energy efficiency and product performance.
